Welcome to Read About Travel, we are so excited to be able to post this first blog to share with you experiences and knowledge gained from world travel over the past 35 years. My wife, Sonia, is a travel agent which has given us incredible opportunities to cruise and to visit some far reaching travel destinations. We is share our experiences and reviews of cruises and land travel in North and South America, Asia, Africa and other parts of this wonderful world. We will also talk about travel for service in third world countries as well as our experiences as Red Cross volunteers.
As a travel agent Sonia specializes in destination weddings, cruises, all inclusive resorts and mission travel. The past two years includes visited Kenya, China, Thailand, Cambodia, China, Haiti, Mexico, Dominican Republic and Guatemala as well as many areas of the United States not solely for business or pleasure but also for service to help with medical/dental teams in the mountains of Haiti and Guatemala and orphanages in Thailand and Cambodia.
A recent highlight was a three week trip to Kenya, Africa – two weeks helping in an orphanage in Nairobi and the third week on Safari in the Masai Mara. We will be sharing these experiences as well writing about other fun travel locations we have recently visited like Las Vegas, Florida, Cancun, Jamaica, Alaska, Bahamas, Ireland, Bermuda and Antigua. I assist my wife in the travel industry by managing several travel web sites including www.lightestluggage.com where you can shop for the most durable lightest weight travel bags in the industry.
